{frosted pumpkin cookies & the great pumpkin party}

I can’t believe August has come and gone!  Seriously, where did the past month go?  I’d say something about Summer being over, but I think {as usual} it’s sticking around here in Georgia for a bit longer!

To help everyone get into the Fall spirit, I’m teaming up with two AMAZING bloggers, One Artsy Mama and Happy Hour Projects to bring you a “pumpkin” linky.  Nothing screams Fall to me like pumpkins {and Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes…yum}!

What are we looking for?! Everything DIY – crafts, decor, recipes – whatever you’re posting about that involves pumpkins in some way!

Grab the button, if you like {the code is in my sidebar} and feel free to add it to your party list, post, or sidebar for being part of our collection.  We invite you to come back and link up anytime you’ve got something new between now and September 30th – anything linked up will be part of the collection, visible on all three blogs.

Once the collection is closed I’ll add it to the {soon to be created} “Holiday Ideas” tab at the top of the page.
Holiday link parties are pretty laid-back, so we don’t require anything of you, and we feature things we like whenever we’re in a festive mood, there’s no set schedule. :)  Just enjoy the party, get some ideas, and leave some if you have them!We can’t wait to see those pumpkins!To kick things off, I’m sharing an absolutely amazing recipe for Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies from my Aunt Margie.

Disclaimer: These are addictive and probably not too great for you, but hey…we all need a little indulgence every once in a while, right?!
To make {Frosted Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies} you’ll need:2 cups flour1 tsp baking powder1 tsp baking soda1 tsp salt1 cup crisco or butter1 tsp cinnamon1 cup sugar1 cup canned pumpkin1 egg1 tsp vanilla1 cup chocolate chips

For the frosting you’ll need:
2 T crisco4 T milk1/2 cup brown sugar1 cup powdered sugar1 tsp vanillaTo begin, cream the butter and sugar together, and add to that the pumpkin, vanilla, and egg.  Beat this mixture well.Add the dry ingredients and stir to make smooth.
Add the chocolate chips and drop by the spoonful onto a cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes & cool!
To make the frosting, combine the crisco, milk and brown sugar in a saucepan.  Boil for two minutes stirring constantly!Cool and add to it the powdered sugar and vanilla, stirring until well blended.  Ice the cookies when they are well cooled!I’m linking up at these parties!Snap!
