{Toddler Valentine Cards}

{Toddler Valentine Cards}

A few week’s ago, I shared the thank you cards that Jackson made for his Christmas gifts.

Toddler Thank You Note

They were such a hit with his grandparents, that I wanted him to make something similar for Valentine’s Day as well.  So I came up with another punched card/coloring project for him.

To make Toddler Valentine Cards, you’ll need:

blank white cards and envelopes

crayons

a hole punch

washi tape

heart stickers

fine tip Sharpie

materials

I began the project by letting Jackson color inside the cards.

color

He takes his art work very seriously!

While he colored, I began to apply washi tape to the leftover heart punches from his thank you cards.  Yes, I saved them.  I knew Valentine’s Day was coming up and figured I could probably use them for something!

I let the tape hang off the edges…

…and then used scissors to trim around the heart shape, so they looked nice and neat.

To assemble the cards, I punched holes at the bottom, used double-sided tape to attach the heart to the front, and wrote out

I love you a “hole punch”!

Inside each card, I also signed Jackson’s name and wrote the year so his grandparents could remember when this masterpiece was created!

I think the beauty of making these cards is that no one card is exactly the same.

I hope you and your loved ones have a

{Valentine’s Day Photo Gift Idea}

{Valentine’s Day Photo Gift Idea}

This year, Jackson will be sending a few little somethings in the mail to his Grandparents for Valentine’s Day, because let’s face it, what grandparent doesn’t like getting cute things from their grandchildren?!

I created a little photo prop for him to hold using the following materials,

materials

wooden letters, I and U

wooden heart

chalkboard  & hearts scrapbook paper

Mod Podge

paper mache letter O

white acrylic paint

foam brush

I traced the letter O shape onto the backside of the scrapbook paper and glued it down using the Mod Podge.  I also Mod Podged a strip of the paper along the edge.  {Why the letter O?  Well, it was in my craft stash, sitting there, doing nothing, so I figured, why not?!}

cut pieces

I also painted the letters I and U with white acrylic paint.

Once everything was dry, I hot glued the wooden letters to the front side of the prop.

Then, I got my little cutie dressed for the day and we had a little photo shoot for Grandma & Grandpa.  Here is my favorite shot.

I had visions of going outside, but it was raining, for several days.

Grandma & Grandpa won’t care…who wouldn’t love that sweet face?!

We’re adding the picture to his Valentine Cards {that I’ll be sharing tomorrow}!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

{“Hoppy” Valentine’s Day}

{“Hoppy” Valentine’s Day}

Before I share my handmade Valentine cards, I wanted to remind all of you to enter to win a box {or two, or three} from The Epic De-Stash Bash that I’m participating in with 20 other fabulous bloggers.  There SEVEN WINNERS, each getting THREE AMAZING BOXES of unused crafting supplies from our own personal stashes!  You don’t want to miss it! :)

I’m pretty sure that most ladies involved in the Create.Craft.Love Valentine’s Day Card Exchange have received their cards from me by now.  If not, sorry ladies, don’t read this post!  I am so excited to share my simple handmade card idea with all of you; I just can’t wait any longer.

I think these could easily be made for a child’s card exchange as well.

handmade valentines

To make “Hoppy” Valentine’s Cards, you’ll need:

cards & envelopes {any size or shape is fine}

frog stickers

fine tip Sharpie marker

heart stickers

washi tape

materials

I was fortunate enough to fine pre-cut heart cards that came with envelopes for $1.50 per pack of 12 {score}!  If you can’t find a pre-cut card, I think using card stock and a paper punch would be a great alternative.  Plain square or rectangle cards work just as well.

On the front of the card, I attached the cute little frog sticker and wrote out “hoppy” valentine’s day!

Inside, I added a heart sticker or two, signed my name, and placed a piece of pink and white polka dotted washi tape for fun.

Once I addressed the envelopes, I added a piece of washi tape to that as well.  Hopefully the post man doesn’t mind!

I had a lot of fun making them and participating in the card exchange with Jill.  I’m anxious to start receiving all of the handmade cards over the next few days too!
