Clark Kent Toddler Costume

September 17, 2013 By meredith 21 Comments

Last Halloween was a big deal in our house.  It was the first time that our little guy actually went out trick or treating!  He had a blast {and so did we}.  Instead of opting for a store-bought costume that we’d really not get much use out of, I wanted to create one out of items we already had.  I also of course wanted something super cute and memorable as it was his first time venturing out into the trick or treating world.  So after perusing tons of blogs and pins, I came up with this little creation…

He got so many compliments on his costume, and guess what?!  The only items I had to buy were the baby suspenders and the glasses!  We had everything else in his wardrobe already.  To make your own mini Man of Steel, you’ll need:

a superman t-shirt {ours was from Old Navy}

black pants

white button up shirt

black suspenders {found on Etsy}

black framed glasses {sunglasses from the dollar store with the lenses popped out}

black shoes

I was also lucky enough to find a Superman treat bucket at our local consignment store for a whopping $2!

Now to start thinking of what he and little brother will be this year?!

I’m part of The Really Awesome 2013 Handmade Costume Series this year.  Go check it out at C.R.A.F.T. and Really Awesome Costumes!

Happy Halloween!
