Pretty Stenciled Glitter Tags

March 6, 2014 By meredith 14 Comments

I was provided with the stencil, glitter, and sponges for this project, but all opinions are entirely my own!

I’m so excited to share this new product with all of you today as it’s the creation of one of my sweet, Atlanta-area blogger friends, Amy Anderson of Mod Podge Rocks!  With her new line, you can get intricate designs with Mod Podge and glitter using these stencils than you could with Mod Podge alone. You can also use sand and other “grainy” type items.  To “test drive” the stencils for myself, I chose the Starlite design and created some beautiful glittered tags, perfect for any gift, small or large!

To make a couple stenciled glitter tags for your next gift, you’ll need just a few things:

Mod Podge {I used the Sparkle variety}

Mod Podge Podgeable Glitters

Mod Podge Spouncer Applicators

Mod Podge Rocks! Peel & Stick Stencils

blank kraft tags

variety of thin ribbons

Let me first just say, I LOVE the Podgeable Glitters!  The packaging makes it so super easy to squeeze out just the right amount of glitter you need for the intricacy of the project.  Plus, I didn’t feel like I was wasting valuable glitter!

To make a tag, I simply peeled the stencil from the backing and adhered it to the tag where I thought it would look good.

I then used the foam spouncer to apply a layer of Mod Podge over the stencil design and onto my kraft tag.

Now here is where you could do one of two things.  You could either peel the stencil away and then apply the glitter to the design, or apply the glitter over the stencil.  I chose to apply it with the stencil still on and had beautiful results.

Once I was finished, I peeled the stencil back up and shook off the bit of excess glitter onto a piece of paper.  I added some pretty pearl stickers and a piece of colored ribbon to the top of the tag and voila!

I adore the finished results and have added the tags to my gift wrapping stash for future gifts.
