Holiday Traditions with West Elm

November 13, 2013 By meredith 12 Comments

I’m so excited to partner with West Elm in this sponsored post and share with you their awesome products!

I’m a huge Thanksgiving and Christmas “traditions” kind of gal.  I absolutely LOVE making memories with our family, and starting new ones with our two boys.  Nothing quite beats waking up on Christmas morning as a parent and seeing the absolute shock and joy on your child’s face that Santa actually stopped by for a visit while he was sleeping.  Anticipating the big day is more and more of a reality for me as we’ve only got about 6 weeks until the big 2-5 of December.  One tradition that my husband and I have is to make a big breakfast to enjoy before we open our gifts Christmas morning with the boys.  Just us, our comfy PJ’s, a fire in the fireplace, and some delicious breakfast ingredients waiting to be cooked.  This year we are so excited to make some of our favorite breakfast items on our new Cast Iron Skillet from the West Elm Market.

West Elm was kind enough to offer to send me some of their fabulous products, and when I ordered, I definitely had the Christmas season on my mind.  I picked up some super cute white and red felt garland and matching felt snowflake ornaments {hello…kid friendly holiday decor!}, the cast iron skillet {we have wanted one FOREVER, plus the fact that it’s Made in the U.S.A. is totally awesome}, and one of their “favorite throws” in lemon wood {I may or may not have an addiction to buying beautiful new throws each winter}.

So the plan for Christmas morning {and probably many more mornings before}.  Make our favorite breakfast, bacon & scrambled eggs, but this time with our brand spankin’ new cast iron skillet from the West Elm Market.

Now you’ll also have to imagine a few other things to set the scene for the morning.

Cue super cute, new felt ornaments and garland, also courtesy of West Elm.

We couldn’t wait to give the skillet a try, so of course we used it to make some delicious bacon yesterday morning.  That’s definitely how bacon was meant to be cooked!

Mixing clean lines, natural materials and handcrafted collections from the U.S. and around the world, West Elm creates unique, affordable designs for modern living.  They definitely design products that make it easy for you to express your personal style at home.

West Elm Market is a total home toolkit in four key categories: Kitchen, Garden, Care & Repair and Personal Care. The brand focuses on functional design, local production, entrepreneurship, and community connections. The first store, West Elm Market Brooklyn, opened in October 2012. A true neighborhood destination, the West Elm Market stores include a café and a common area for community workshops. Several West Elm stores across the country have West Elm Market shop-in-shops.

And, good news!  West Elm is offering 20% off all tabletop items until November 26th.

What holiday traditions are you looking forward to continuing or starting this year?  I’d love to hear all about them!

I love West Elm!!! I love the choices you made – the garland is so cute! We need a cast iron skillet, too – my mom has had one for years and it’s seasoned to perfection, so everything you cook on it tastes so yummy! Merry {early} Christmas!
