Simple Halloween Bunting

October 14, 2013 By meredith 8 Comments

I was provided free product from Cricut for this post, but as always, all opinions are 100% my own!

Over the weekend I actually had a few moments to myself in between caring for a sick toddler and a teething baby to work on a simple and fun Halloween bunting for our stairway.  Halloween decor is kind of at a minimum in our house, as most of my seasonal decorations for this time of year are more pumpkin and Fall as opposed to witches and bats.  But after getting to try out Cricut’s new Monster Bash cartridge, I was inspired to create a Halloween bunting that definitely fits in with the rest of our current decor.

To get started, I cut several images from Monster Bash using plain old white cardstock.

I also browsed the image catalog and found the perfect pennant flags to cut in orange and black cardstock.  Once all of my cuts were made {which took no time at all}, I gathered the rest of the supplies and got to work on assembling the bunting.

I began attaching the Monster Bash cut outs with a few dabs of glue on the outer circle of each one.  Easy peasy!

Once the cut outs were attached the pennants, I tied each one onto a long string of jute twine using different combinations of black ribbon, orange ribbon, and orange & white baker’s twine.  There wasn’t really any method to the order.

And now we’ve got a simple Halloween bunting, perfect for our staircase to make our days leading up to Halloween a little spookier!

Oh this turned out so cute! We are avoiding “spooky” as much as possible this year, this is just the type of thing that is festive without being scary!

Ooh! I love the spider one. That could be great for making super hero capes.
