Daily Gratitude

March 24, 2020 By meredith 3 Comments

Gratitude.

It is defined as the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.

Since my kids and I began discussing our daily gratitude, it has completely changed our lives. It makes the big scary things that can sometimes interrupt our regularly scheduled programming seem not so big and scary. It helps us appreciate what (and who) we have in our lives.

I promised myself at the beginning of our school year we’d start each morning with a daily devotional and going around our table to all say one thing we were grateful for that day. It can be something small like warm socks, coffee, or maybe having a delicious dessert the night before. Maybe it’s something a little more serious like a safe home or a clean bill of health after a sickness. Nothing is too small or too big when it comes to being grateful. Just be grateful!

Remember this: when you start your day with gratitude, you start your day thinking about what you have instead of what you don’t have and IT IS A GAME CHANGER.

We have been keeping our daily gratitude entries together in one spiral bound journal. I love that I will have this journal to look back on once it’s filled up. I’m also going to start having the kids record their own each day to keep in their morning binders. Think of it as extra handwriting practice + daily gratitude at the same time!

If you’d like to try our free printable, you can access them here! I’ve made three different versions both in color and black and white. I hope you enjoy practicing daily gratitude as much we have this year.
