I mentioned a few weeks ago that we are definitely a Banana Boat® family. We use their products any and every time we head outdoors, especially in the hot Georgia weather. When it’s hot, we like to stay cool, and the best way to do that is to find some fun water related activities. One of our favorite water activities is hitting up our local splash pad for an afternoon of playtime and staying cool.
Being at the splash pad gives me piece of mind because there aren’t any large bodies of water that my little ones can fall into. For the most part, they are able to run {or crawl} around and play their little hearts out. Thankfully, our splash pad allows us to bring in coolers, so I always stock one with drinks and snacks to take a couple breaks here and there in between playing.
Another fun water related activity, that we LOVE to do together is head out on my in-law’s boat. The boys are finally old enough to enjoy some time at the lake, and next year our littlest will be able to head out too! We were just there this past Father’s Day enjoying some sunshine, swimming, and lunch on the boat.
Before they head back to continue playing in the water, I make sure to reapply their Banana Boat® sunscreen to ensure their skin is covered and protected from harmful UVA and UVB rays. Each person needs about 1 oz of lotion for full coverage.
Some Sunscreen Tips to Consider
1. Have sunscreen available for ALL outdoor activities, hikes, bike rides, swimming or even just a meal out in the backyard.
2. About 30 minutes before going outside make sure to apply about 1 oz or 2 tablespoons of sunscreen to each child and yourself!
3. Reapply every two hours or immediately after excessive sweating or getting out of the water.
