DIY TMNT Two Minute Ornaments

December 19, 2014 By meredith Leave a Comment

I’ve had a lot of fun creating and crafting with my oldest two boys this Christmas.  We’ve made lots of fun projects including these awesome and SO EASY DIY Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Two Minute Ornaments.  My oldest actually requested to make these as he was looking over my shoulder one day while I was on Pinterest.  I’m most definitely not claiming this to be an original tutorial, but wanted to share with all of you because they are just so cute {and he LOVES them}.

All you’ll need to make a set for your little turtle fans are:
green shatterproof bulbs
grossgrain ribbon in turtle colors {red, blue, purple, and orange}
medium sized googly eyes
hot glue/glue gun
ornament hooks or twine

For each turtle I gathered the following items and had my glue gun ready.  I should add that while these were made for my kiddos, it wasn’t really a craft that they could help me with at this point because of the hot glue gun being the main source for putting it all together.  They did love watching though!

To make sure my ribbon was long enough to wrap around the entire bulb, I simply wrapped it around the bulb before cutting, so I knew it wasn’t too short.  I used hot glue to put everything on it, and soon had a set of four, totally awesome TMNT Christmas ornaments.

My oldest likes to find all four of them on a daily basis in our tree upstairs!
What simple crafts have you done for your kids this season?!
