Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

November 24, 2014 By meredith Leave a Comment

Ah, the season of baked goods is upon us my friends.  I’ve got a HUGE sweet tooth, so this time of year I love to spend some time in the kitchen baking up a storm.  With three little ones, I imagine I won’t have a ton of time to do that this Christmas, so I’m sure I’ll be making a few batches of my Chocolate Crinkle Cookies because they are so easy to make {and one of Santa’s favorites}.

To make about 2 dozen, you’ll need:
1 box of Devil’s Food cake mix
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1/2 cup powdered sugar

To make the dough, combine the dry cake mix with the vegetable oil and eggs.  It’s going to be very thick, almost like a silly putty consistency.  Once the dough is mixed well {I broke out my Kitchen Aid to tackle that task}, roll out 1 inch dough balls.

Roll each dough ball in powdered sugar, coating it as much as possible.

Before baking, flatten slightly with the bottom of a cup.  You do not need to flatten them much, just lightly press to get them going in the right direction!

Bake for 8-9 minutes at 375.  {As always, oven temps and times may vary, so keep an eye on your first batch}.

Cool on wire racks and then get ready to watch them disappear!  They are DELISH!

Happy baking this holiday season!
