Handmade Keychain

November 5, 2014 By meredith Leave a Comment

Since having kids, I began searching for different activities to participate in together.  We’ve made lots of friends along the way, both for the kids and myself through a few different groups.  One of those groups that I absolutely love is my MOPS group.  In case you aren’t aware, MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers.  There are different MOPS groups all over the country, so if it sounds like something you’d be interested in, please check into it!

 BeYouBravely

Last year was my first year in MOPS and I loved it so much that I decided to volunteer to be a discussion group leader this year.  Typically DGL’s give the moms in their small group a welcome gift.  This is nothing extravagant, just a small token of appreciation and welcome to the new MOPS year.  This year’s theme is “Be You, Bravely” and our symbol to go along with that is the feather.  So, I found some of these charms and got inspired to create simple keychains for the moms at my table.

To make the keychains I used these charms and pieces plus some needle nose pliers.

I also had some small, clear jewelry baggies and printed out the MOPS theme onto some kraft paper bag toppers as well.  Each keychain had a feather charm, a beaded charm, a cross charm, and a charm that said “handmade” or “made with love”.  I used the needle nose pliers and a jump ring to attach each onto the chain hanging on the keychain ring.

I then cut out the bag toppers and folded them in half to attach to the top of each bag with a stapler.

I loved how they turned out, and all the moms at my table adore them!
