Candy Swirl Christmas Centerpiece

December 19, 2013 By meredith 16 Comments

I’m so excited today to be a part of a big Winter themed celebration with some other pretty fabulous bloggers.

Dec MFB

From left to right, top to bottom: Sky from Creative Capital B, Adrianne from Happy Hour Projects, Melanie from It Happens in a Blink, Amy from One Artsy Mama, ChiWei from 1 Dog Woof, Sarah from Repeat Crafter Me, Kadie from Seven Alive, Bethany from Pitter and Glink, Kara from Happy Go Lucky, Lauren from Thinking Closet, Tara from Suburble, Nancy from Do Small Things with Love, Meredith Wait Til Your Father Gets Home, and Kirsten from One Tough Mother

The decor I’m sharing is not only super duper easy, but honestly very inexpensive {especially if you’re a craft store junky like myself}.  All of the items I used were purchased after Christmas last year for about 80% off!

To make your own Candy Swirl Centerpiece, you’ll need:

foam vase filler {reds, whites, and silvers}

red & white “candy” inspired Christmas stems

a fish bowl

a small foam disc

To assemble the centerpiece, I first made sure to clean the fish bowl with some glass cleaner.  It was a bit dusty from sitting in my craft closet for about 12 months.  Once it was clean, I placed the small foam disc inside the fish bowl, poked the Christmas stems through the foam, and arranged them until I felt satisfied with how they looked.

Finally, I added the red, white, and silver vase filler, and voila!  Instant, candy swirl centerpiece for our kitchen table!

I placed it on top of a couple pieces of burlap and added a couple of felt snowflake ornaments to finish off the look.

How have you added a little homemade to your holiday this year?!

Merry Christmas!

    This centerpiece is stunning, Meredith! I LOVE the color combo of red/white/black so I could create something like this for anytime of year! Thanks for inspiring me!
