{Adding Color with Miracle Gro}

September 15, 2012 By meredith

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Scotts Miracle-Gro for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

One way I love to freshen up our front yard is to add some beautiful color to our huge planter.  We’ve had it for several years now and I love the weathered look it’s got going.  In the summer, it had a beautiful assortment of red salvia and bright yellow and orange marigolds.  The cooler temperatures calls for something a tad different though.  I had great luck with pansies last fall and winter and knew I wanted to add them to the front planter once again!

I found some inspiration by searching on Miracle Gro’s  Find beauty in the Fall website.  It shared all of the items that I might need to tackle this project.  And also suggested several Fall gardening ideas and tips specific for the region I live in.  If you haven’t checked out the website yet, I highly recommend it, especially if you need a little help with your green thumb!  You can also became a fan of Miracle-Gro Facebook page for tips and daily inspiration!

Once I found the perfect colors, I had one more item on my shopping list…

I was also pleasantly surprised to find so many other amazing Miracle Gro products for future projects I have planned this season…

Flower & Vegetable Garden Soil worked wonders for my spring garden, and I will definitely be using it again for a few fall crops I’m planning.

We’re also considering planting a new tree or too this season.  I know that this soil will work wonders as well as the Tree Spikes!

After getting my new fall flowers and a fresh bag of Miracle Gro potting Mix home, I got to work removing the summer flowers.  Once removed, I added a fresh, new layer of Miracle Gro Potting Mix to the planter, arranged the new fall flowers how I wanted them, and topped off the planter with more Miracle Gro Potting Mix.
