Fall Harvest M&M’s Trail Mix & Warm Cider

September 16, 2013 By meredith 19 Comments

I am a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community.  This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias and its client.

Ahhhh!  Fall is in the air {well at least it is indoors, not so much Fall outside in Georgia yet}.  Last weekend I did a little Fall decorating and baking to jump start the season that I love oh so much.  I put out my Fall mantel decor and also made some yummy trail mix and apple cider using two of my favorite things, the new Fall Harvest M&M’s and Mott’s 100% Apple Juice.

To make your own trail mix and cider, you’ll need:

Fall Harvest Trail Mix

1/2 cup Fall Harvest peanut butter M&M’s

1/2 cup Fall Harvest milk chocolate M&M’s

4 cups rice chex cereal

1/2 cup chow mein noodles

1/2 cup dry roasted or honey roasted peanuts

5 T melted butter

1/4 cup raisins (optional)

Directions are EASY!  Simply pour the melted butter over the rice cereal.  Once it’s evenly coated, toss in remaining ingredients, mix up, and store in an airtight container for up to one week.

It’s an easy, light treat to take to any get together you’ve got coming up or even to put in your kiddo’s lunchbox!  Plus, how pretty are the new colors for Fall this year?  I’m loving them!

Warm Apple Cider

4 cups Mott’s 100% apple juice

 1 t ground cinnamon

1/8 t ground cloves

2 cinnamon sticks

2-3 T caramel sauce

whipped topping {optional}

Add all ingredients {except the whipped topping of course} to either your crock pot or a deep pot on your stove and simmer on low for at least an hour.  Once your house smells like an apple orchard, your cider is ready!  Top with a dallop of whipped topping if desired and enjoy!

How are you preparing for the cooler Fall weather?  Or do you just have to pretend inside your house {with the A/C still crankin’ like I do?}
