Project Life at Michael’s

August 13, 2013 By meredith 13 Comments

This post is part of a paid campaign with American Crafts, but all opinions are my own.

Remember a few weeks ago when I shared my very first Project Life experience with all of you?  Well, since then I’ve started another Project Life album to document all of our travelling adventures.  We haven’t gone on too many trips as a couple or a family yet, but I thought it’d be fun to document any trip we take in the same album using the Vintage Travel Core Kit available now at Michael’s!

PL in store

To start my travel album, I needed just a few things in addition to the core kit I received.  You can see the items I like to have on hand when working on a Project Life album here.

I decided to start my travel album with one of my most favorite trips I’ve ever gone on.  It’s definitely not my favorite trip because of the location {Jamaica} or how we finally arrived in Whitehouse instead of Negril {picture a hotel from H-E double hockey sticks via Spring break 1999 and a two hour drive through the winding roads of Jamaica with a driver named Mr. Chicken that we’re pretty sure did a drug deal en route}.  It’s my favorite trip because it was our honeymoon and we were young{er} and had much more energy and not a care in the world and I got to enjoy it with my main man.

Currently our honeymoon pictures are housed in a somewhat cute mini photo album with no room for descriptions or “cutesy-ing” up in any way.

Cue Project Life {and the iconic feet crossed in love shot at the pool}…

I absolutely adore the Vintage Travel Core Kit’s color scheme.  It features deep blues, reds and browns, along with a variety of darker neutrals. The icons in this edition include trains, airplanes and maps…perfect for a travel album!

I had printed out a lot of our pictures in a sepia tone which looks very cool with the color scheme if you ask me.

Oh my.  I know it’s only been 4 years, but it’s crazy {to me anyway} how much younger {and well rested} we looked!  That top picture was us in the airport at like 4 am and we look bright eyed and bushy tailed.

layout

I’m looking forward to several more honeymoon layouts in our travel album, and also adding future trips {together and our family trips} from now on.  Who says each trip needs it’s own album?!

Now we’ll have one big travel album to look back on and remember all the places we’ve been together as a couple and as a family.

The thing I LOVE most about Project Life is just how simple it is!  Even the most inexperienced scrapbooker can create a beautiful Project Life album with little supplies required.  It’s a back-to-basics approach that requires no scissors, no glue, and no tools of any kind!  All you need to get started are the items pictured below.masthead-products

Good News

Michael’s now carries one of the largest selections of Project Life, including TWO exclusive core kits {Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic which features an array of light blues, pinks, greens, yellows, and airy neutrals} and the Vintage Travel Core Kit that I shared above.

I LOVE those colors! I used to scrapbook a lot but I just don’t have the time for it. A kit like this would help a lot!
