{Italian Green Beans}

June 25, 2013 By meredith 10 Comments

If you recall, I’ve shared a few posts with all of you about my new-found love of Country Crock and Cooking With Spreads instead of butter.  A few weeks back, I shared this recipe for one of our favorite side dishes, Italian Green Beans.

Italian Green Beans

4 Tbsp. Country Crock® Spread, divided
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 cup fresh green beans {found in the produce dept of Walmart}
2 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese

ingredients

To give you an idea of the cooking process {and just how simple it is}, watch this short video clip…

Making Italian Green Beans

So, go ahead, #CookWithSpreads tonight and make some delicious Italian Green Beans for your family!  I promise, they’ll LOVE ’em!

Italian Gren Beans

Make the Switch

Now, I’ve made this recipe tons of time in the past, but usually I didn’t use Country Crock.  I’m so glad I decided to make the switch and #CookWithSpreads because using Country Crock was no different than when I make Italian Green Beans with with real butter or olive oil, so it was an easy {and healthy} change to make!  If you haven’t tried to substitute yet, you definitely should!

There are some great health benefits to making the switch to Country Crock as well.  It’s made with 70% less saturated fat and 30% fewer calories than butter, and doesn’t contain cholesterol or hydrogenated oils.  What exactly does that mean for you?!  That’s 0g trans fat per serving!! Just like Country Crock®, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter!® spread also has 70% less saturated fat than butter and 30% fewer calories with amazing taste.  The best part?!  Both are available at Walmart {and who doesn’t have a Walmart nearby?!}

Cooking your favorite recipes using Unilever buttery spreads is a deliciously smart move. With 0g trans fats per serving, less saturated fat and fewer calories than butter, cholesterol-free spreads are a better option.

    I love Country Crock, especially their light version. I haven’t tried it for sauteing veggies but these look so good. Just have to give it a try!
